Telephone Appointments Available

We’re pleased that our patients value high-quality, independent general practice care. With increasing demand for appointments, we are introducing additional options to improve access.

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Ritam Jain, an experienced GP based in Melbourne, who will be offering telephone consultations on Fridays to support our patients. Dr Jain has nearly 20 years of experience in general practice, including previous work in rural Queensland.

Telephone appointments are suitable for a range of issues that can be safely managed without a physical examination. This provides an opportunity for existing patients to access care sooner when appropriate.

Change to Wednesday Opening Hours

10 December 2025

Due to recent changes in doctor availability, the practice will be closed on Wednesday mornings.

Our Wednesday opening hours will now be 12:30pm to 4:00pm.

Options for care during this time:

• For health advice, you can call healthdirect on 1800 022 222.

• For urgent medical care, consider the Liverpool Street Urgent Care Centre (03 6136 5111).

• In an emergency, dial000 immediately for an ambulance.

Important Update: Private Billing From 1 December

27 November 2025

From 1 December, all appointments at Bellerive Doctors will be privately billed.

We’re making this change to ensure the doctors consulting from Bellerive Doctors can continue providing high-quality, comprehensive care. Medicare rebates have not kept pace with the real cost of running a modern medical practice. Private billing allows us to remain sustainable and continue offering longer, thorough appointments, with appropriate nursing support.

What this means for patients

• A private fee will apply for every appointment.

• Medicare rebates can be processed at the time of payment.

• Fees apply to all patients, including children and concession card holders.
